What is Project Winter Survival?
For the past 12 years, Project Winter Survival and our team of volunteers & donors have assembled and distributed over 12,000 winter survival kits. These kits provide warmth and essential supplies needed for the homeless and less fortunate to survive on the streets. These kits often make the difference between life and death.
Each year we have over 10,000 requests for these life saving kits, from agencies that help these people directly, which we try to fulfill. Our goal this year is to assemble and distribute 3000 kits to over 100 front line agencies, which include the Salvation Army, Red Cross, local shelters and drop-in programs in the GTA. These agencies then distribute the kits to the most vulnerable people who are living on the streets.
The Survival Kits include ‘necessities for the needy’ TM and in order to reach our goal of 3000 kits, we need to receive 3000 of each of the following (new) items:
